Generated audio
One flattened file
- The drums, bass and chords are baked into one waveform.
- Changing the bass means regenerating the whole song.
- Nothing tells you what changed between two takes.
Now in early access
monody is a complete music studio with an AI engineer built in. Ask for a bassline, a warmer mix or a darker sound. It lands in your session as real notes, devices and automation you can tweak, keep or undo.
Animated demo of monody: a producer types “Add a rubbery bassline that locks with the kick”. In one edit the assistant adds a Rubber Bass track with 32 notes and four devices, lights up everything it changed, and the Before/After switch flips the project between the two states.
Not a generator
Music generators hand you a finished file you can’t open. monody’s assistant works inside your session, with the same tracks, clips, notes, devices and automation you use by hand. Nothing gets flattened, nothing is hidden, and you can take over at any point.

How it works
There’s no mode to switch into. The assistant lives beside your arrangement, sees what you’re looking at, and every request ends the same way: with you deciding what stays.
01
⌘K opens one box for every command, track, sound and device — anything else goes to monody. Focus chips show what “this” means right now: the clip, track or notes you have selected.
02
Each edit appears the moment it’s made and the arrangement repaints live — this request took one model call and 3.6 seconds, start to finish.
03
Flip Before / After to A/B the whole request. Keep it, tweak it by hand, or step back with ⌘Z — the assistant’s edits share your undo history.
Provenance
In monody the aurora means one thing: the AI did this. Tracks it added, notes it wrote, knobs it turned and lanes it drew light up for a few seconds — press Show to see them again, or flip Before / After to compare. You never have to guess what changed.
Request
“Add a simple melody on top of these chords, in this clip”
Added a simple 4-bar melody to the top of that clip, in A minor pentatonic above the chords. It starts on E, dips to C, moves up to G in bar 2, and returns to A. It ends on a held G over the final chord. It plays on the same pad sound as the chords, so you may want it on its own track with a brighter preset.
Request
“Make the bass darker”
Made the bass darker. I lowered the filter cutoff, reduced how far the filter envelope opens on each note, and rolled off the highs after the drive.
Both requests are real: the notes and settings above are exactly what the assistant wrote. On this page too, the gradient only ever marks the AI.
The studio
Everything the assistant can do, you can do by hand — and everything you do by hand, you can ask for. Arrangement, piano roll, mixer, automation and 50 effects, all driven through the same undoable commands.
Clips, loops and splits, multi-select and grid snap — and automation lanes for any mixer or device parameter, drawn point by point.
Inserts, bus routing, real faders and peak meters. Solo lives in the engine, so it survives every edit and never reaches an export.
Note names on the notes, a velocity lane, and Space plays just this clip — looped and soloed.
From Saturator, Roar and Drum Buss to EQ Eight, Grain Delay, Hybrid Reverb and Vocoder — native, and every knob reachable by hand, automation or a request.
Sounds, effects and AI recipes. Click to use one on the selected track, or drag it onto any track or chain.
The A–K row is a polyphonic keyboard through the track’s instrument. Hold a chord; every note sustains until you let go.
The export runs the same audio path as playback, and solo never reaches it. Move a whole project — model and audio — as one file.
Sounds
Every preset is a whole chain — the synth plus its effects — level-matched by rendering, so switching sounds keeps a consistent volume. Or roll the dice: monody builds a new patch that fits the part, bass for a low line, keys or pads for chords, a lead for a melody. ⌘Z brings the last one back.

Under the hood
An AI you trust with your session needs a studio that can’t be surprised. monody is a C++ engine built contract-first, with hundreds of tests and millions of assertions behind every guarantee on this page.
A fader move, a pasted clip, a note the assistant writes: each one is a command that is validated, logged and exactly invertible — so you and the AI share one history, and one undo.
Playback and export run the same audio path. A golden-render test flags any change to the reference mix, and block-size fuzzing checks the output never depends on buffer size.
The audio thread never allocates memory — a tripwire test fails if it does — and never waits on a lock. Edits reach the engine as snapshots swapped in atomically, so the music keeps playing while you, or the assistant, work.
A JSON snapshot, an append-only command log and content-addressed audio. The studio runs on your machine, offline; only the assistant needs a connection.
monody is an MCP server. On Pro and Studio, point Claude Code — or any MCP client — at it and drive the whole studio through the same gate. Every change lands as one labeled step, tagged as the AI’s, one undo away.
Roadmap
monody ships in milestones, and every feature lands with its AI and its hands-on controls at the same time. Here’s what’s in the build today, and what’s next.

Credit packs are one-time top-ups, used after your monthly credits, and they don’t expire while your account is open.
1 AI credit = $0.01 of model usage at list price, rounded up per request. A simple edit is about 1–2 credits; a 16-bar part about 5.Prices in USD. Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record, handles payment and tax. See the Terms and Refund Policy.
Questions
A whole DAW: arrangement, piano roll, mixer, automation, 50 built-in effects, a synth with 28 presets, rendering and project export. The Free plan includes all of it, up to 8 tracks. It doesn’t record audio or host third-party plugins yet — both are on the roadmap.
No. It only acts when you ask, it edits through the same commands you use, and everything it changes is labeled and lit up. Before / After flips a whole request at once, and ⌘Z steps back through it.
Write or rewrite parts, design and swap sounds, add and tune effects, set up buses and routing, draw automation, change the tempo — and explain what it did. It sees your selection, so “this” means what you’re looking at.
Always. A request lands as one or a few labeled steps in the same undo history as your own edits — ⌘Z steps back through them, and Before / After flips the whole request at once so you can compare.
Each request uses credits for the model usage it costs: 1 credit = $0.01 at list price, rounded up per request. A simple edit is about 1–2 credits, a 16-bar part about 5. Free includes 50 a month, Pro 1,000 and Studio 2,500; credit packs top you up and don’t expire while your account is open.
The studio doesn’t: editing, playback, rendering and export run on your own machine. The assistant does — it runs on Anthropic’s Claude through monody’s servers and needs a free account. Paid plans keep working offline and check in at least every 14 days.
Yes, on Pro and Studio. monody is an MCP server, so Claude Code or any MCP client can read the project and run the same commands — each change still lands as one labeled, undoable step.
