How monody compares with Suno Studio, FL Studio, Ableton Live and Logic Pro
Suno Studio makes instruments and vocals with its own models. FL Studio's Gopher works from a listed set of actions that Image-Line calls experimental. Ableton Live and Logic Pro have no assistant you ask in words. Here's what monody's assistant changes in your session, how it shows its work, and what the others do better.
Checked against each company's own pages and manuals on 1 October 2026. Products change, so follow the links before you decide. If something here is wrong, email support@monody.ai and we'll fix it.

Where monody is different
The assistant works in your session. Ask for a bassline that follows the kick, a darker lead, the drums on a bus with a bus compressor. It writes notes, sets the sound, inserts devices and draws automation, in one request. It makes no audio, so every part stays editable by hand.
You see everything it touched. Each change glows in the arrangement, the mixer and the device chain, and the request lists what it changed ("19 notes · 3 settings"). Before/After flips the whole request, and ⌘Z steps back one action at a time.
Your plugins work, and the assistant can use them. monody loads Audio Unit, VST3 and CLAP plugins, and the assistant can put one on a track and set its first 48 parameters. More on the plugins page.
Finish measures the song you have. It renders the song and checks it against Streaming, Apple Music or Club targets: loudness, true peak, balance, stereo, which two tracks mask each other in which octave and which bars, and whether the song plays like one loop. Master to target lands the loudness in one undoable step, and the assistant can fix the other findings and measure again. More on the Finish page.
Ableton Live sets in and out. Open a Live 12 set, finish it in monody, and export it back to Live as a project folder with stems. More on the Ableton Live page.
Claude Code can drive it. monody is an MCP server, so an outside AI client sends the same commands the app does, each one an undoable step. More on the MCP page.
Where the others are ahead
- Suno Studio makes whole sections, instruments, vocals and MIDI clips from a prompt, turns an audio clip dragged onto a MIDI track into notes, and runs in a browser.
- FL Studio runs on Windows and Mac, and its assistant asks you to approve each action before it touches the project.
- Ableton Live has the Session view and warping, and it turns a recording of you singing or whistling into MIDI notes (Standard and Suite).
- Logic Pro has AI Session Players that play drums, bass, keys and synth parts, a Mastering Assistant, and Flex Pitch, which turns a sung line into a MIDI track.
- FL Studio, Live and Logic are mature DAWs with years of features monody doesn't have yet, such as warping, clip launching, a sampler and drum kits, and comping. FL Studio and Live run on Windows, and Suno Studio runs in any desktop browser.

Which one fits
- You want a finished song, vocals included, from a sentence: Suno.
- You're at home in FL Studio, Live or Logic and want help with chores: start with what your DAW already has. If a Live set is stuck, you can bring it to monody and send it back.
- You want to finish your own track with an assistant that writes, sounds and mixes inside a real DAW, with your plugins, and every change visible and reversible: that's what monody is for.

Questions
- Is monody like Suno?
- No. Suno Studio makes instruments and vocals with its own models. monody makes no audio. Its assistant writes notes, devices and automation into your session, using monody's synth and effects or your own plugins, and you can edit every part by hand.
- How is monody's assistant different from Gopher in FL Studio?
- FL Studio's manual lists what Gopher can control today and calls the list experimental. It covers channels, the mixer, plugins and their parameters, step-sequencer steps, quantize and tempo, and Gopher can write piano-roll scripts that work on your notes. The list has no direct command for writing a melody, chords or automation. monody's assistant writes parts, sounds, routing and automation in the same request, and marks everything it changed.
- Can I keep using Ableton Live?
- Yes. Open a Live 12 set in monody, finish it, and export it back to Live as a project folder with stems. Live's devices and plugin settings don't come across.
- Does monody have anything the big DAWs don't?
- An assistant that edits the whole session with every change marked and reversible, a Finish view that measures the song against a release target and names clashing tracks by bar, an MCP server built into the app, and Ableton Live sets in and out. It also lacks things they have, such as warping and a Session view; the list is below.
